REBECCA PALMER WINNER of the Best Actress gong at the Monaco International Film Festival, Rebecca Palmer could well go on to make 2005 her year when Scots movie Red Rose is out on January 21.

Red Rose officially selected at the Monaco Int'l Film festival

The 27-year-old plays Maria Riddell in the first of two biopics to follow the lives and loves of Robert Burns.

Red Rose, made by production company Palm Tree UK of Mauchline, Ayrshire, looks at the Bard's bed-hopping behaviour, offset with his artistic torment.

Rebecca has also starred in Quills with Michael Caine and Kate Winslet.

She's also popped up in Intimacy with Marianne Faithful and Tim Spall, and has appeared in Spooks on BBC1.

Later this year she'll take the lead in ITV thriller Beneath The Skin and will shoot Passenger, a road-movie set in Scotland.

    Certainly one to watch.
