BIOGRAPHY: DANIELLA GONELLA BRITISH PRODUCER

Daniella Gonella is the founder DG Productions a relatively new London-based company and is one of the forerunners in a new generation of filmmakers.

Daniella has worked in Broadcast Television for more than 20 years, in a number of different positions delivering diverse programming formats for commercial output on all channels – everything from prime-time entertainment and commercials to news and current affairs.

DG are producing the exciting new sitcom “Merseydoc”, directed by Dewi Humphries, “Boxing Academy” a series which takes a group of youths from the ghetto to the Olympics presented by Lloyd Honeyghan former World Welterweight Champion and a documentary about the young and cutting edge artist Scarlett Raven presented by Mark Dolan.

In theatre, Daniella has produced the musical “White Folks”, written and directed by Ray Shell at the Pleasance Theatre, the moving musical drama, “Victory” dealing with the Middle East conflict, written and directed by Rick Friend at the Donmar Warehouse, the charity concerts “Reaching Out For Africa” and “Football Reaching Out For Africa” directed by Dougie Squires at the Royal Albert Hall and the Peter Cook Tribute Concert “For Pete’s Sake”, directed by Bob Spiers at The Dominion Theatre.

DG Productions has a portfolio of diverse film projects in different stages of development, ranging from the multi-million dollar dark suspense spiritual thriller “History of Demons” to the music driven CG animation movie “Superhumans”. DG Productions is also developing Rick Friend’s award-winning historical epic “The Pope’s son” – the controversial and true story of Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara who was abducted by Pope Pius IX in the mid-19th century and his gripping emotional drama “Bornholm” set on the Danish island in the Baltic Sea.

Currently DG is moving forward with neo noir – psychological thriller “No Exit” a collaboration with Epic Level Entertainment and – romantic action drama “One” written and directed by Jay Michaelson which are both generating phenomenal interest and creating a buzz .
